  • Investigate and prosecute the “Riders”:  Specially assigned by the
    District Attorney as sole prosecutor to investigate, evaluate, and
    prosecute four former Oakland Police Officers charged with 30 on-duty
    crimes ranging from kidnapping to conspiracy to obstruct justice                

  • Cross-designated Special Assistant United States Attorney (eff. 2/01)

  • 18 month trial ending in “Hung Jury” (Longest Criminal Jury Trial in
    Alameda County history and the 2nd longest in California history)

  • Extensive experience in trial preparation and litigation in criminal cases

  • Assignments: Gang Unit, Probation Violation Unit (Deputy in Charge),
    Felony Trial Staff, Misdemeanor Trial and PX Teams (Oakland,
    Hayward, and Pleasanton branches)


Successfully prosecuted over 35 jury trials to verdict, including:

  • People v. Larry White (Nov., 1997)
    Attempted murder of CHP Officer (life sentence)

  • The Glenview Rapist (People v. Oliver Evans; April, 1997)
    Serial Rapist in Oakland, CA (life sentence)

  • The Maya Motel Shooting (People v. Daryl Haynes; Jan., 1997)
    Multiple victim, drug-related homicide (life sentence)

  • People v. Herbert Moore (Nov., 1996)
    Kidnap/rape of a 7 year old girl (life sentence)

  • People v. Daniel Holloway (April, 1996)
